The Good's and the Bad's of the Iconic ABH Eyebrow Gear

A lot of those who know me, know that a lot of the things which I buy are things which I have heard or read about; or are simply limited edition so I just tell myself that I need to have it. A lot of the time, you could say that I am left satisfied with those things and following various beauty bloggers and so on would have helped.  This post is about one of the very few that I'm left disappointed with, and the reason why I feel that it is important to write about this one thing in particular is because of how much recognition is actually gets. The Anastasia Beverly Hills brow definer has genuinely no factor going for itself other than its amazing eyebrow brush.  I have used the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade, which I loved, and so wanted to try something similar in brand and effect; yet different in efficiency and practicality, and when the lady at the counter told me it's a lot easier to apply, I was sold. It is like crayon and so difficult to apply, shading in ...

Back To The Future

SO I have made the decision to go back home.  A lot would say it was short lived, a lot would prefer to call it giving up.  I'd like to go with trial and error and I think life is based on this method.   Since I have been here, I have had to tell myself that I will be OK and that I'm now here, and there is no turning back as it is not an option, and I will at least give myself a good six months before I decide to return.  Throughout the whole time that I was having to convince myself, I also managed to realise that there is no such thing as something not being an option.   When I decided to take the risk and head over to Berlin, I was also well aware that if things didn't work out I would just come back; and that is exactly what I am doing.  Surroundings - or family back at home who are constantly telling me "told you so" and "well you could have at least waited until the summer" are the ones who I don't quite understand, though.  I mean, what w...

More Adventure, More Food...

Wonder Waffel, Berlin - The best waffles and ice creams in town. Mc Donald's, KuDamm -  And of course Mc Donald's tastes better abroad - especially if it is followed by a McCafe treat of pastries and great coffee. Oranienstra ße Park, Kreuzberg - Sometimes you just have just around and have fun like a child, and that is just what I did. Holocaust Memorial, Potsdamer Platz - No matter how many times I come here and take photos, I end up visiting the memorial again.  Dadante Pizza, Kreuzberg - The best pizza restaurant run by Turkish owners.  So good, that you would think they are Italian.    Moccachino, Wedding - No breakfast is breakfast if it isn't a Turkish breakfast, so I just had to get involved and treat myself! Brandenburger Tor, Berlin - Still probably my favourite place in Berlin.  No matter how hot or cold the weather is, this place makes me happy.

Month Two: Back To Being A Tourist

I cant really say that I have been having a blast these last few weeks.  Homesickness, depression and a negative wave going through my mind, it has not been easy.  Particularly after visiting home a few weekends back, I have not had it easy since getting back.  I would like to think that I am a positive person, full of life and someone who loves to laugh; however, when some things don't go to plan you have to keep adding to that plan and find a solution.  Or even a day out in the city, exploring, at the least. Having mentioned my unexplained love for elephants previously,  I had been curious about the famous Zoologischer Garten since I visited Berlin for the very first time in 2014 - yes, it is a long word, (basically, The Berlin Zoo).  On Saturday the 19th March, I decided that I needed some colour or some hope in my new life, as I couldn't keep telling myself that everything will be ok and I needed to make it ok... So I did.  I went to see some ...

Bitter Sweet Berlin

Three whole months without a single post.  Without anything of interest to scribble... Or type, should I say?..  They most certainly were not any old months where I simply wasn't doing or accomplishing anything; in fact I was pretty much getting my life together, making huge decisions.  Or just huge moves.  To Germany. What better way of restarting my good old writing habits than to update you all on my current location!  Hurrah, I finally made it here.  After several visits here and sleepless nights of um'ing and ah'ing, wondering why I cant find a job in Berlin, I was offered an opportunity to work as a customer solutions agent... Speaking English and Turkish only, of course.  My journey was not a smooth one to say the least, but settling in, moving in with my lovely flat mate and finally booking my evening German lessons I can say that I'm a lot more comfortable here, in Berlin. A lot of people did try and stop me when I was in the decision making...

Peace

I am the last person to get involved in politics and religious debates.  Lets be honest, unless it is shoes, football or handbags I don't have much of an opinion; but as an individual who was raised in a Muslim family I think that I have a few things I wish to express in words. Islamic state... "Islamic"... According to whom, exactly, are these uneducated, vile cowards a part of Islam?  I have strong opinions on things which happen in the lives of those who claim to belong to Islam, however these are opinion based.  For instance, Muslims who judge fellow Muslims for not covering their hair or praying five times a day.  Or Muslim girls who are arguably strong believers just because they wear a hijab, but they do every other "haram" (forbidden) thing behind closed doors, or own more MAC lipsticks than I... Anyhow, this is besides the point. I cannot express the rage that comes over me when I read things about terrorism.  Under which religion or religious la...

The Whites and Blues

Sunsets, parties and the blue domes. Mykonos is a dreamy island. From daytime beach parties to evening breezes, there is something for all ages and interests. The cobble stone streets and white buildings add a beautiful touch to the nature of Mykonos and makes everything seem brighter! I was there with family which was unfortunate as there were many youngsters and party opportunities which I had to miss due to obvious reasons!  Seafood, which isn't one of my most favourable dishes was incredibly popular and despite the fact that it is a touristic hotspot, prices were not too extremely high. I stuck to eating risotto one night, lasagne the other and completed my week with five other Italian favourites - in Greece. Nice.  My favourite time of day in Mykonos was the nighttime.  It felt as though this pretty little island came alive at night and everything looked extra special from sunset onwards.  It was almost the only thing I looked forward to after wakin...
