The Venetian Diaries

Those who know me know very well that I love to explore.  New places, new flavours, new fragrances.  Because I am a believer of all new things; fresh things, opening doors to positivity.  Leaving the older stuff in the past, moving onto better ones.  The same generally applies to my travel theory, too, because I think that when I see new places I gain a newer side to me and this is generally the case.

Venice was just perfect.  Picture perfect.  The gondoliers serenading whilst they soar through the canals, the narrowest alleyways and of course the ice cream.  Seriously is there anything Italians do wrong?!

The warm and friendly people of Italy have never failed to impress me.  Coming from a Turkish background I pay a lot of attention to hospitality, and being greeted with a warm welcome, wherever I went was just the icing on the cake for me.

Ice cream is a massive part of my life and Italian Gelato just adds happiness to that.  The excitement of having a late lunch/dinner knowing that I will be having Gelato afterwards kept me going!

Always a pleasure with the beautiful weather, the beautiful and elegant people and the incredible food!  Until next time, Italy; arrivederci!

Berlin: The City of Many Walls

So as I had mentioned before, I enjoy shopping and accept that it is possibly my worst addiction.  I haven't however mentioned specifics and have now got to move onto the more exciting detail.  Spending money on plane tickets.  My latest trip was to Berlin.  I have been there before for only two days but I must say that seeing just a wall and visiting the Christmas market was far from sufficient and I knew I had to go back and visit from the day I got there and began exploring; so here it was. I arrived in Berlin on a cold but sunny Sunday Afternoon and the first thing which caught my attention was the long streets - covered in art.  I don't think I had appreciated the fun and colourful walls which are covered in graffiti as much as I thought I did the last time I was there.   When I arrived at the Park Plaza on Wall Street, I noticed a lot of bikes on the street corner which were to rent.  Of course immediately I tried to get on one to see if my leg...

Huda Beauty: Does the Faux Filter Foundation really add filter?

I have really tried to love this product.  I'd consider myself to be a Huda-ist (not sure this word exists but I think it should!) and so try and purchase every product which I convince myself to be magical, as soon as it is launched. Faux Filter Foundation The Faux Filter Foundation was no exception.  I bought, I tried... I never liked.  First of all, it is far too thick and creamy.  Unlike most foundations, it literally does what it says on the box - it adds a filter to your face without a caked - on look however; flawlessness - debatable.  I never really use more than a pump of foundation anyway, and especially after watching her very honest tutorials and blog posts, I was glad that I didn't have to change this rule.  I use just half a pump and even this is plenty.   Complexion Perfection Now, you're probably thinking "if this product is so great, what is the problem?"  Well, for those who have not yet tried it, I can te...

The Power of Rejection

When was the last time you did something without wondering 'what if?', or worrying about the outcome? Now I find this to be a bit of a problem in our society, and want to get to the bottom of it. I say it's a problem, because I see that a lot of people of all ages, holding back in doing what could change a lot in their lives and decisions.  I sometimes feel like rejection or being turned away in whatever I do is such an obstacle that I need to express the negative effect this may have on the lives of so many of us. In order to overcome this obstacle, the first question I ask myself is 'so what?'. This is key, because when you start answering your own questions, it's a lot simpler to picture why 'rejection' or an answer which isn't that of your expectations isn't actually an obstacle.  Stating facts or presenting opinions where due is a part of our nature, and the human race is one of the most confusing among all. The point is, you are ne...
